May wrapped up with the fullness of the moon in the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is known as the "good luck" sign and the full moon made friendly connections to Mars (how we use our energy) and the collective North Node (the
potential for growth), so there is a good vibe in the air for taking steps in "the right direction" and this continues in the month of June. If you want to read more about the full moon in Sagittarius, click here for last month's
newsletter.
On June 13th, 3:43 PM EST, the New Moon, which is also a SuperMoon, enters witty Gemini.
This New Moon is super sized, although you wont be able to see it in the night sky (it's not yet visible). With the sun and moon residing in the sign of Gemini, and Mercury getting cozy in Cancer, you may feel the urge to communicate about your feelings and these feelings may be connected to the past. There is a playful vibe in the air and the need for stimulation and movement (Gemini), however there is also the potential to get
stuck in old habits and patterns. If you tend to detach and block your emotions, that is an old pattern that will not be fulfilling; the collective North Node is in Leo, which rules the heart and your child-like self; you are meant to feel your emotions and connect to your heart center. Yoga enables me to connect to my emotions (via my body); if you tend to get 'stuck' in your mind/thought loops, commit to your yoga (or any creative) practice, so that you may free up space in your
mind/body and allow energy to flow (Gemini wants movement).
With Juno, the asteroid that symbolizes marriage and commitment, making an easy angle to this new moon you may decide to make a deeper commitment to someone or something important in your life.
Juno is riding in the sky with Eris, the asteroid that stands for both strife and self improvement, so there is potential for discord and fiery arguments (Juno is in Aries) in your relationships AND for working toward self-improvement in relationships. There seems to be an "opening" or potential for something positive to manifest when it comes to connections with others, however you may need to sort out some communication issues
first.
Communication, as I noted above, is a significant part of the picture this month with the sun and moon residing in chatty and thought-provoking Gemini. Uranus in Taurus is close by in the sky, indicating that there may also be unexpected news or events connected to relationships and
stability/security. People don't generally like to hear "unexpected," but keep in mind that Uranus-related news can be very positive and is only seemingly negative if there is something that badly needs to change that you are neglecting or avoiding (likely, there will be a positive outcome at some point if you can align yourself with your "right direction" and make the changes you needs to make). With eclipse season upon us (there are 2 in July and 1 in August), you may be feeling
the stirrings of impending change; eclipses bring the potential for both endings and new beginnings and can be exciting.
Mars will go retrograde on June 26th, and so for the next few months there is an opportunity to reassess how you use your energy and if you are, in fact, moving in the "right
direction." As I wrote in last month's newsletter, you may feel your energy waning as we approach the Mars retrograde (depending on your natal chart); if this is the case, try to listen to your body. It may be a natural time for you to slow down and, if it all possible, take a break from the daily grind of life.
The Mars retrograde period can bring anger to the surface, especially if there is repressed anger that needs to be released, and it can spur you to explore your relationship with your masculine side - your ability to assert yourself, exercise your will and manifest what you want and need in life. There is also opportunity
to work on and bring new life to something from the past (a project, hobby, relationship, etc.). Jupiter is still swimming backward through Scorpio waters (meaning it is also in Retrograde motion), indicating that the focus this summer will likely be on backtracking in one way or another, which is not at all a "bad" thing. Again, this may point to something you haven't had the time for that you will now be able to put energy into
again.
On June 27th, 3:43 pm, the Full Moon in Capricorn, signifies creating a balance between home and family (your private life) and career (your public self).
As always with the full moon energy, there is potential
for manifestation and release (of emotions and/or situations that have run their course). If your life is weighted on one end of the "home versus career" spectrum, you may find yourself wanting to create more balance; and since Mars is retrograde this could be about spending more time with family or creating more leisure time in your life. For others (especially, if you have mars retrograde in your birth chart, like I do), this may be about using your energy wisely and well to create a
more fulfilling career and home life. These planetary energies can play out many different ways, depending on your natal and transit charts, so please schedule a Reading with me if you would like more specific info. :) (*If you would prefer an in person reading -- the link says phone or skype
-- we can do that too.)
This full moon has a serious tone because it is hanging out with Saturn, the ole' task master who wants structure and discipline and is big on rules and doing the hard work/not taking short cuts. This is
likely related to career or how you are seen in the world. If you have put in hard work and effort, Saturn may bring rewards now.
Vesta, known in mythology as Saturn's daughter, is also spending quality time with this full moon. Vesta is
complex: she represents purity, devotion, and one's true essence as well as home/family, yet Vesta can also represent insecurity, fear, and denial. Vesta is moving in retrograde motion through the sign of Sagittarius, indicating issues and feelings surrounding freedom and, perhaps, spirituality. Freedom versus structure or the mundane world versus the spiritual world may be themes that come up now.
Speaking of freedom, the full moon in Capricorn is making an easy connection to Uranus, creating, once again, the potential for unexpected and exciting news and changes. As we move closer to eclipse season, there may be something brewing and news that you receive could
be connected to home, family, the past, business, sharing your creative gifts, and children.
Whew, that's enough for now. :) I am feeling the Gemini headiness after all that writing and analyzing, and it is now time for a walk in
nature, which, by the way, is a great antidote to the Gemini energy this month, which can make you feel a little scattered and restless.
