New Moon Partial SOLAR ECLIPSE in LEO
The New Moon is a Partial Solar Eclipse and Super moon, making it special, brighter and, potentially, more intense.
Leo is the sign of play and fun, and sharing your creativity and talents with others. This can be a time for new beginnings when it comes to using and sharing your creativity, having more fun in your life, romance (with someone new or newfound romance in an existing relationship), children (your own children or children you work with).
Mercury, still in retrograde motion, is also in the sign of the lion. Mercury rules communication, teaching/learning, writing, news/information, etc. When Mercury is in retrograde mode there tends to be more miscommunications and misunderstandings, and a general a slow-down of the brain, pointing to a need to rest and
rejuvenate.
When any planet is in retrograde it signifies a circling back to the past, a time that you may be focused on re-doing or reevaluating something (or simply rebooting your mind and body). If something comes up from the past for review there may be some friction tied into it since Mercury is butting heads with Jupiter, planet of
expansion and opportunities, in the sign of Scorpio no less - Scorpio rules the underworld and all the things we don't like to look at. Scorpio also rules intimacy, partnerships, joint resources, and other people's money. Any of these areas ruled by Scorpio may be part of the picture now.
Because eclipses tend to bring in big news and changes (ending and new
beginnings), you could receive information (Mercury) that is somehow in conflict with your faith or desire to expand (Jupiter), however there is great potential for growth if you act from your heart and with integrity (Leo). Considering all sides of a situation is emphasized now, with Venus in Libra, the sign of balance and equality.
This New Moon/Eclipse is the third in a series of eclipses since early July, so you may have already received news and you may currently be navigating your way through life changes (eclipses can be felt for 6-8 weeks before and after, and whether or not you felt/feel them directly has to do with whether or not they hit any significant points in your natal chart).
Although we have an abundance of Leo (fun) energy 'in the air,' this new moon is also making a challenging/awkward angle to Pluto, Scorpio's Ruling planet. Pluto can signify power struggles, fear, and deep, buried emotions. Pluto also symbolizes healing and rebirth. With the New Moon making an awkward angle to Pluto, it suggests a need for adjustment when it comes to needs and desires/drive versus fears and
under the surface emotions and agendas. With Pluto in Capricorn, fears and deep emotions may be connected to career/your work in the world or your place in the world. The Leo Sun asks are you honoring yourself?
Mars is still moving backward in the sky as well, from earth's vantage point, signifying a lessening of ambition and a need for a time-out. It could
be the perfect time to get away, without a strict schedule/agenda - explore and connect to your child-like sense of wonder and play, and live more fully in your heart. This is not the time to analyze and get too cerebral about anything, although you may be gathering information (mercury retrograde) in order to make a future decision. Mars will be retrograding back into Capricorn on Sunday, Aug. 12th, so in the weeks to come you may be circling back to projects/work
from the past or anything career related.
Lastly, Uranus has just changed gears into retrograde motion. According to Pam Ciampi's forecasts in the Daily Planetary Guide, there is potential over the next months for "intuitive breakthroughs if you use the time to look back and reconsider the deeper meaning of any sudden changes or losses that
have occurred since the beginning of the year" (58.)
