Hello!
I am returning to writing my Newsletter after a short hiatus. This past Friday, August 30th, the New Moon was in the sign of Virgo, which brings attention to your health and routines. You may have experienced, since last Friday, projects and work gaining momentum again.
As I sat at my table eating dinner last night, I noticed the golden crescent shape, the baby moon, in the sky and it felt hopeful. The New Moon is always about beginnings and planting seeds, and for this reason it's an auspicious time to create intentions, goals and, even, wishes for the next cycle ahead. Some Astrologers talk about New Moon Wishes, like blowing out birthday candles. I like this sentiment. I view it as a quieting of the mind chatter (i.e., the left brain
hemisphere) in order to connect to your spiritual and creative center (or right-brain hemisphere). Create your wish and let it go off into the ethers to do what it may, without trying to control it.
In the photo above, I was reminded about accepting life as it comes in order to experience the magic in small moments, such as a rainbow after a thunderstorm.
For those of you who loved my in-depth Astrology writings that included other planetary aspects, there is a site called
Mystic Mama that you may enjoy. I won't be writing quite as many details about Astrology, although I will continue to frame these Newsletters around the New and Full Moons and offer
broad-minded insight.
I have new classes and offerings to share with you. I will be teaching a "pop-up" YogaMoon Flow at Yogaworks in Irvington once a month, starting September 30th at 4:30 pm. Put the date in your calendar and check the schedule - it should appear soon. This is a balanced and sweet Vinyasa practice based on the moon cycle (new or full) that includes a restorative pose and time for reflection at the end.
In addition, I will be teaching
Monthly Full and New Moon Flows at
Beyond Yoga in Rye NY. This is a lovely and calming space. You can register online.
On
Tuesday evenings, I teach
Flow & Meditate at
Here & Now Yoga in Scarsdale, NY. I share this class with another yoga teacher, Melissa Jhunja (I teach the first two Tuesdays of the month and she teaches the last two). You can see the class description and schedule
HERE.
Beginning

Thursday, September 5th, at 7 pm, I am teaching a
4-week Foundational Astrology Course at the Irvington Library. The classes are 1 hour and you will learn the major components of the Natal Chart (using your chart, if you have your birth details). This is a good way to lay a foundation if you're newer to Astrology. You can sign up

And, finally, if you would like to go deeper with your Astrological studies, I am offering something new:

I hope to see you soon! xo
