Please join me tomorrow morning at 9:15 for a 70-minute flow class.
During the Spring, in the Ayurvedic tradition, we focus on Kapha balancing, which is to say clearing congestion from the body/mind/spirit.
The qualities of soft and heavy are "in the air" now, making practices like Kapalabhati Breathing (the short, quick exhale out the nose) suitable/helpful (they make us feel lighter). Many of us are also facing unexpected life changes and uncertainty, so it is equally
important to balance the air/space elements of the Vata dosha.
Think: standing poses, twists, and heart-openers (in tomorrow's class). We will balance both Kapha (water/earth) and Vata (air/space) in order to become more present.
I will also be teaching my Spring Ayurveda Balancing workshop on Saturday May 23rd. This is a 90-minute workshop that begins with a brief introduction to Ayurveda, transitions into a yoga practice (about 45 minutes) taught through an Ayurvedic lens, and concludes with a deeper dive and
interactive discussion of the Doshas, or mind/body constitutions, and tools for seasonal (spring-time) balancing.
